Frontman of Talk Talk, Mark Hollis, has died at the age of 64 due to a “short illness.”
The band’s 1980’s songs “It’s My Life” and “Life’s What You Make It” became worldwide hits. These two songs brought on a unique approach, as it incorporated synth-pop sounds.
Before retiring from the music industry in 1998, Hollis had released a self-titled solo album.
Paul Webb, Talk Talk’s bassist and also known as Rustin Man, shared a photo on Instagram of the two and called Hollis a musical genius. “It was a honour and a privilege to have been in a band with him,” said Webb.
