Rolling Stones fans rejoice!
In preparation of their 4K re-release of The Rolling Stones The Rock and Roll Circus live show, the band released the performance of their track “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, which you can check out below.
The track clip features Mick Jagger and crew decked out in colorful attire, with Jagger delivering a wild and intimate performance in front of a live audience. The 1966 film’s title Rock and Roll Circus accurately describes the action packed event, where in addition to The Rolling Stones, bands such as Jethro Tull, The Who, Taj Mahal, and the all star supergroup, Dirty Mac, preformed.
The performance’s re-release is significant in that the original film was not released commercially until 1996, with various reasons being cited for the band’s decision to shelve the project, with one being the fear of being overshadowed by the more popular band, The Who, at the time of filming.
The re-release is available now, this being in addition to the band starting up their North American tour again on June 21st after a brief pause due to Mick Jagger’s recent heart surgery.
