We’re throwing it back with The Rolling Stones this Thursday.
Today marks 56 years since the iconic band released their first self-titled album in the UK. It only took two weeks to make it to No.1 on the charts. The English rock band remained at the top of the charts for 40 consecutive weeks, 11 of those holding the No.1 title.
When The Rolling Stones dropped their first album in the UK on April 16th, 1964, they released an altered version of it for the United States only a few days after their UK release, and was subtitled as England’s Newest Hit Makers. The dubbed title eventually became the official U.S. album name.
