Tom Petty’s estate released a new song titled “There Goes Angela (Dream Away),” but there’s a process you have to follow to listen to the unheard track that was recorded during Petty’s Wildflowers sessions.
In order to hear the new song, one must have a subscription to SiriusXM, be signed up to Tom Petty’s fan list by providing an email and zip code, or passing a five question quiz on Petty’s website.
Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench spoke with SiriusXM about the never-before-heard track. “When it came on, I was so thrilled. But I was also mad like, ‘What? We didn’t cut this?’ When I first heard it, I was so happy that it almost made me cry because I was hearing him do something I hadn’t heard.”
Tom Petty’s estate plans on releasing a box set of Wildflowers, however a release date hasn’t been announced. In the meantime, they’ve released a demo of “You Don’t Know How It Feels,” which you can stream below.
