Happy birthday to the icon, Elton John!
The English singer turns 74 today, and he’s celebrating big. John shared six rare tracks from the 2020 box set Elton: Jewel Box. The songs are available to listen to on streaming services for the first time ever!
The track “Scarecrow” made it to list of deep cuts John released. This was the first song Elton John penned with Bernie Taupin. The English singer stated the 1967 track “will always have a very special place in [his] heart.”
He added that taking time off during the pandemic influenced his decision toward sharing the track. “Finding this song again when I put together the Jewel Box and thinking of everything that has happened in our careers and friendships that has sprouted from this one point is just remarkable.” The five other songs John released are “Holiday Inn,” “Keep It a Mystery,” “Smokestack Children,” “Two of a Kind,” and “Conquer the Sun.”
