Rihanna has returned, teasing her new song “Lift Me Up” coming Friday!
The world-renowned star has famously not dropped an album since 2016’s ANTI, with only a few features on songs with PARTYNEXTDOOR and N.E.R.D.

This new single is attached to the long-awaited sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The song is dedicated to the late Chadwick Boseman, star of the first Black Panther movie. Director Ryan Coogler has writing credits on the leading single along with Tems, Ludwig Göransson, and Rihanna herself. This new entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sets out to honor the life of Chadwick Boseman and deliver an emotional memoir to the audience and fans of his iconic performances. Rihanna’s new single continues this message and begins a new era for the star.

The soundtrack for Black Panther (2018) was a huge success helmed by Kendrick Lamar, featuring The Weeknd, SZA, Future, and many more. Rihanna has enjoyed her own success over the last few years with her work with Fenty, along with the announcement of her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in 2023.
Rumors of a new solo album have been circulating but new information is scarce. Surely this single is a good sign for more music on the way soon!
