Machine Gun Kelley has shared the video for his new song, “Don’t Let Me Go”, which sees the artist reflecting on his past as well as his mental and emotional health.
The 33-year-old, who has been officially changing his stage name to “MGK’ on social media, returns to his rap roots in the new song and doesn’t hold back about his mental health struggles, alluding to suicidal thoughts. MGK also shares lyrics referring to the miscarriage he and fiancé Megan Fox experienced in 2021. Directed by Sam Cahill, the video finds the Cleveland rapper touching on those issues, and more.
Prior to the song’s release, MGK revealed that a large portion of his upper body had been newly-tattooed and shared the shocking new look on social media, which features thick black ink covering most of his upper body and arms with the exception of a line down his front. MGK captioned the post: “for spiritual purposes only. thank you @roxx_____’. However, in the lyrics of “Don’t Let Me Go”, MGK raps: “I had a breakdown and tatted my entire body except one line.”
“Don’t Let Me Go” is the follow-up to last year’s “Pressure“, presumably of MGK’s forthcoming album. Check out the video for “Don’t Let Me Go” – here.
