It’s officially official: Trudy’s TexMex has shuttered it’s final operating restuarant location.

In May of 2024, the statesman posted about the last of 2 remaining locations closing, but indicated hope for the company to look into new ways to expand.
Ever since 2020’s aquisition due to bankruptcy, however, all expansions seemed to hit roadblocks, until ultimately the doors where shuttered.
Officially closing it’s final location on Burnet Road this week makes BOB and Austin’s hearts ache. Trudy’s now joins the crowded closure list next to The Lost Well, Giddy Ups, Baby A’s on Barton Springs, and Oat Willie’s.
** And if you think you might miss-out on their infamous ‘Mexican Martini’… according to Reddit user genteelbartender, they might have come up with ‘the’ recipe, or maybe something close?
In the meantime, we’ll hold onto the last message from Trudy’s social post, in that they plan to continue the brand in Austin in some way.
“While the North Star chapter is coming to an end, the Trudy’s Tex-Mex brand continues forward, committed to exploring new opportunities to serve the Austin community.”
Cheers to that! Thank you for the memories, Trudy’s!
