New year means new music. Queen guitarist Brian May has done just that.
May released a single called “New Horizons,” which is named after NASA’s continuing mission. The song was released on New Year’s Day to commemorate the fact that the New Horizons mission would be the most distant spacecraft flyby in all history on January 1st, and the mission was completed!
May’s latest project combines his two passions of astronomy and music; this is the first time in 20 years the Queen guitarist has released a solo single.
Along with the single, the astrophysics doctor also released a music video. Watch below:
The single is available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music and more.
It’s no surprise that Queen was a trending topic this past year. The film Bohemian Rhapsody was the highest-grossing music biopic in history. And their classic hit “Bohemian Rhapsody” is the most streamed song from the 20th century.
May’s new song has brought the new year to a great start, and it’s safe to say that we’re excited to see what other projects he has in store for us!
