It’s back to the grind! Start your week off on the right foot with an update from BOB on all the news in music you missed over the weekend. Gulp down that coffee, rub the sleep out of your eyes and return to the real world with BOB’s #MusicMonday!
1. Nice try, internet. According to Billy Corgan: He is neither Taylor Swift’s dad nor a real person.
An internet conspiracy theory recently surfaced claiming that Taylor Swift and Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan look alike and therefore must be related. Corgan responded to the rumor with two (lengthy) posts on Instagram, in which he denies any relation with the “lovely and talented Miss Swift” and uses the comparison as a “good starting point” to touch on ideas of self-esteem, God, Digital Age culture, William Shatner and… Spongebob? Oh and that Billy Corgan is, in fact, dead/never existed in the first place. BOB thinks someone needs to get this man a massage and some hot tea, pronto!

2. Jason Mraz and Meghan Trainor: “More Than Friends”
And in slightly more normal news, Jason Mraz released another song from his upcoming “Know” album this weekend, featuring Meghan Trainor, called “More Than Friends.” This new duet is a sweet, gentle tune with warm vocals from Mraz anchoring Trainor’s accompaniment and an unexpected country-tinged guitar riff brightening the song just enough, while still maintaining a soothing, tender sound.
