Tina Turner doesn’t let her age define her.
The iconic 80-year-old artist shared a video message to fans earlier today expressing gratitude. Confirming her age with a big grin on her face, Turner clarifies that she is “happy to be an 80-year-old woman.”
The actress and singer confessed in her memoir My Love Story that she’s had a journey with health issues. In 2013, Turner suffered a stroke and in 2016, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. Her health didn’t improve, leading her to face total kidney failure. Turner underwent surgery after her husband Erwin Bach donated a kidney.
“How did I think I would be at 80? Not like this. Well I look great, I feel good,” chuckled Turner. Watch the celebratory video below:
