It’s Halloween season, which means you’ve probably hit the candy aisle at your local grocery store a handful of times now. As you make your way down and glance at all the delicous candy that you plan on purchasing for your fellow trick-or-treaters, and let’s be real, for yourself too, what is it that you end up grabbing? If it’s a chocolate and peanut butter combo, you’re not alone in the decision-making.
A new study from Monmouth University shows that America’s favorite choice of candy during Halloween are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Surveying over 1,100 adults, results show that 36{e72c879627c1d1c251e53bd95853cd7b21b4e6becead6c719a8efd7245599b30} of people favor the peanut butter and chocolate cover. 18{e72c879627c1d1c251e53bd95853cd7b21b4e6becead6c719a8efd7245599b30} chose Snickers and 11{e72c879627c1d1c251e53bd95853cd7b21b4e6becead6c719a8efd7245599b30} prefer M&M’s. What can we say? We can’t get enough of that chocolate. However, other non-chocolate candies made the cut; including votes for Skittles, Hershey bars, Tootsie Pops, and Starburst. Something that isn’t shocking- candy corn made the cut. The iconic Halloween candy remains as one of the top-selling candies in the United States during Halloween.
We have spoken. Our love for Reese’s is real. The savory chocolate was created back in 1928 by dairy farmer H.B. Reese, and we haven’t gotten enough of it since. America loves the peanut butter so much that the creamy sensation can now be purchased in a jar. Talk about a new addiction!
