In commemoration of their 50th anniversary, Queen will be featured on UK postage stamps, making them the third rock band to be celebrated this way. They’re joining the short list filled with two iconic groups- The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
The postage stamps will be a set of 13 and will be photos of four live group shots, a classic image of the band and eight album covers. Here’s a sneak peek of a few of those, shared by guitarist Brian May.
May spoke out on the Royal Mail tribute, saying, “Since we four precocious boys started out on our quest 50 years ago, our lives have been devoted to making our impossible dream come true. Sometimes it’s strange to wake up and realise the position in which we are now held- we have become a national institution!”
The stamps will be available to purchase on July 9, but they’re available for pre-order now.
