Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has finally opened up about his feelings towards Taylor Swift’s track “All Too Well“ and his experience with cyberbullying since. Taylor Swift released Red (Taylor’s Version) in November 2021 that included an extended version of “All Too Well,” which brought great speculation that the track is about the singer’s relationship with Gyllenhaal.
As a result, the actor turned off his Instagram comments due to massive Gyllenhaal slander- which he states is the only way this track has really affected him. In an interview with Esquire, Gyllenhaal said “At some point, I think it’s important when supporters get unruly that we feel a responsibility to have them be civil and not allow for cyberbullying in one’s name.”

With the rise of fan theories and ‘decoding’ lyrics off the track Gyllenhaal’s name has been circulating around the internet like never before in his career. This comes from Swift being notorious for writing songs about her past relationships and not confirming who the songs are about- she leaves that open for interpretation.
Yet, Gyllenhaal told Esquire that the track “has nothing to do with me. It’s about her relationship with her fans,” he says “It is her expression. Artists tap into personal experiences for inspiration, and I don’t begrudge anyone that.”
“All Too Well” was first released back in 2012, but has been re-released after disputes occurred over master recordings ownership between Swift and high-profiled manager, Scooter Braun. Swift has decided to re-record and release all of her previous projects to finally get proper ownership for her music. Her latest release is Red (Taylor’s Version) featuring the highly anticipated 10-minute version of “All Too Well.”
The track was used as a single for the re-release, alongside a music video written and directed by Swift, starring Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink. Watch the video below.
