American Idol superstar Kelly Clarkson is petitioning to legally change her name to her first and middle names. Say so long to Kelly Clarkson, and hello to Kelly Brianne!
Us Weekly, first obtained the filed documents for a legal name change made on Monday, February 14. The reason for this name change comes from the singer-songwriters’ “desire” to go by Kelly Brianne because “my new name more fully reflects who I am,” states the report.
A hearing for this petition has been set for March 28.
Clarkson’s attempt for this name change amid her divorce to music manager, Brandon Blackstock, who she shares daughter River, 7, and son Remington, 5.
